To Catalog a Mom Friend
I have this small pouch that I keep on my person at nearly all times. Inside I have an eclectic assortment of small items with varying levels of usefulness—an extra tampon, bobby pins, a Tide-To-Go pen, to list a few. I noticed that I lend out items in my pouch more than I use them myself, which led me to reflect a bit further on the concept of a mom friend and how you could categorize, define, or catalog one. So I designed this book to serve as a physical catalog of my being a "mom friend."
While designing this book, I wanted to evoke the feeling of rummaging through the pouch—grabbing the wrong items first, seeing a few items at a time, sifting through the pouch for the correct item.

Public Displays of Anonymity
A week-long installation in a well-trafficked stairwell in one of my school's main art buildings. I wanted to explore the tension between private and public by inviting students to participate in the two stages: 1) writing a secret anonymously with white crayon on white paper and 2) revealing another's secret with watercolor.
Beans & Bagels Advertisement
Beans & Bagels is a small, locally-owned cafe and bakery in the heart of Lincoln Square, Chicago. Their service to the community is matched by their dedication to the planet. By implementing zero-waste practices and achieving carbon neutrality, they're making strides towards a greener future. I collaborated with the owner to develop a multi-media marketing campaign with printed publications, digital ads, and motion graphic advertisements for platforms like Hulu and YouTube. It was important for the owner to showcase their sustainable lifestyle and practices, so I developed a 15-second video ad highlighting how their BYO-mug policy was helping reduce unnecessary paper cup waste. To design the visual language for this video, I matched Beans & Bagel's eclectic, rustic, and welcoming atmosphere. This campaign ran on Hulu in the Chicago area June 2024.

Existing / Living (2024)
Existing/Living (2024) is a self-edited, designed, and produced remake of a 2021 assignment. The book pairs Wil Wheaton’s 2018 NAMI conference speech with Nora Cooper’s 2015 slam poem, “I Won’t Write Your Obituary.” Though written from different perspectives, both texts confront mental health stigma—Wheaton through the power of sharing personal narratives, and Cooper through a plea to save a friend.
In this edition, I sought to preserve the heart of the original while refining the design system and materials. Ink spill imagery evolved into shadowy, blurred gray interruptions that mirror the disruptive presence of mental illness and its stigma. As the book progresses, these interruptions gradually recede, replaced by blank scribbles that suggest healing and the erasure of stigma. Printed on translucent vellum, the imagery both obscures and teases the text, revealing meaning through the act of turning the page.
Top Row
Left: Poster — A 20x24in poster about the marine archaeologist, Delia Ni Chiobhain Enqvist. To create the typographic effect, I explored photographing type on transparent paper underwater.
Middle: Book jacket — I focused on the novel's themes of human relationships and the tensions that simmer below the surface of mundane life. I was also heavily inspired by the stream-of-consciousness style in which Woolf writes.
Right: Poster — A double-sided A1 poster illustrating a rewritten history of how women broke into the type design field, told through the narratives of 14 different typefaces and the women who designed them.
Middle Row
Left: Book jacket — Fictional work and concept invented by myself. Jan2021. Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Photograph credits to Alice Alanari from Unsplash.
Middle: Lettering — I picked up a mini sketchbook from my semester in Florence and immediately knew I wanted to fill it with different letters and characters. These are a few of my favorite letters.
Right: Zine — A zine about the history of wine windows, or buchette del vino, around the city of Florence, Italy.Bottom Row
Left: Book jacket — Reimagining a jacket design for Kennedy Ryan's All the Kings Men Duet. The books follow two star-crossed lovers, and how they are torn in and out of another's lives. My design conveys this tension while also suggesting the main characters and somber tone, accurate to the novel.
Middle: Book binding — Double-sided pamphlet image book that allows for the viewer to engage with the content from both sides and in whatever order they would like. 12 images per side.
Right: Book covers — A quick rainy day project, redesigning the cover for "Letter to a Stranger," edited by Colleen Kinder.
