A little more about me...

Hello, I'm Emma!

I am a multidisciplinary designer with a passion for typography, book, editorial, and identity design—also a proud em-dash lover, user, and defender. My research-driven design approach centers around integrating typography within a considered design system while balancing social narratives, effective communication, and personal expression.

Book design holds a special place in my heart, deeply rooted in my appreciation for the power of words and their ability to evoke emotions and convey messages. I believe that the visual presentation of text can greatly enhance the impact of written content, and I enjoy the challenge of crafting captivating layouts that engage the viewer while respecting the integrity of the written word.

I (semi) recently graduated from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, where I earned a BFA in Communication Design and a minor in Marketing. I’m currently at SWIM USA, supporting our extensive portfolio of swimwear, ready-to-wear, and skincare brands through digital marketing campaigns, print collateral, brand & website design. I am currently open to freelance projects, and my resume is available upon request.

When I'm not designing, you can find me discovering new indie artists, binging one of my comfort TV shows, reading a book, or trying out a new dinner recipe! Check out below to see what I’m currently reading, watching, and listening to :)
